About

JOEL REIFF CHICAGO, ILLINOIS

When I first took on the task to modernize and improve my guest experience at my business, a hostel in downtown Chicago, I thought to hire a GC and an architect. But when the project was materialized, I needed to then consider the concept and look, as well as order all the supplies that would be needed for the complete overhaul. I was overburdened with the scope of work necessary and had no idea where to start looking even.

That is when my GC highly recommended Shelly to come on the project as the designer. It was 1,000% the correct choice. She handled everything! From the color concept to the look and feel of the bathrooms. We even added the floor hallways to the project once I saw what she was capable of doing. She ordered everything needed, from new bathroom fixtures to sinks and toilets and partitions - everything within the four walls.

When the project was completed, not only was I overjoyed, but so were the responses from my guests - this was the greatest seal of approval.

I am still working with Shelly on all projects concerning my hostel and even the storefronts now, as I wish to fully modernize the entire building. She has been the best working partner and easy to work with as she takes everything upon herself to oversee it to its completion.

All I can really say is thank you, thank you, thank you! I couldn't have done it without her.

Shelly Perry is an extremely talented designer, painter, artist and furniture designer. She created 2 pieces for my loft studio that fit my design and is functional and beautiful in design.

She created a working desk and TV stand. Both pieces fit the loft using materials that fit the design aesthetic. Quality materials and functional design made both pieces a stand out in my home. I would recommend her for any design projects or consultation. I will also be using her in my kitchen and bedroom updates.

We can't praise Shelly enough for designing our bathroom and making updates throughout our condo. Not only were her design ideas amazing, and matched to our taste, she made the whole process easy by organizing everything with the contractors, which took the burden off of us. We highly recommend using Shelly for your design needs.

“Here’s what you Won’t get, if you hire Shelly Perry Design.  You won’t get a checklist of department stores.  You won’t get (unless of course that’s what you want) a set of rooms that fit in a Toms Price window.  You won’t get a space that looks just like every other space.

But here’s what you Will get: A designer who incepts your decorating dream with kaleidoscopic creative force; someone who will make real your ideas, passions, aesthetics, colors, textures, dreams and hopes.

If it isn’t clear by now, Shelly does not just “design”; she habitat shapes; she’ll channel all her creative skills in decorating, painting, construction, art creation, furniture selection and re-upholstery in a way that no-one else can do. She will give you a place that is You.

SPD shapes your dreams and makes them real.  In the end, you will be living in an astonishing space.  And you will be astonished at what Shelly Perry Design will do.

In my case, SPD helped me with a difficult loft condo, taking it from tedious to transformative.  A lush mix of color, texture and art. A hand-painted curtain. A faux skylight of the city on the living room ceiling.  Forty-year old round art-deco chairs re-upholstered in rich blue-green and teal.  Nobody else would do this for you.  SPD will.  Whatever your taste, style or dream, Shelly makes it real.  Shelly will make you happy.  Thank you, Shelly.”
